Players start with 12 pieces each on the dark squares of their first three rows. Pieces move diagonally forward to adjacent empty dark squares. You capture an opponent's piece by jumping over it diagonally to an empty square immediately beyond. Multiple captures in a single turn are mandatory if possible. When a piece reaches the far side of the board, it is crowned a "King," gaining the ability to move and capture both forward and backward. The game is won by capturing all of your opponent's pieces or blocking them so they cannot move.
